January Asides
Having something to say is not just the urge to speak. Having something to say means one has considered what the saying will do. At its best it is not merely an expression. It is an extension of in-sight that unfolds, unfurls possible worlds that may not previously have been met, considered, believed, within a world that is curious. If the saying does nothing or will do nothing, doesn’t or can’t land in soil that can produce life, then its value is in its having arisen within oneself, alone. The soil is ours. Personally, I let it flourish there, opening new possible in-sights, finding new means of articulation, other ways for it to speak to me. The life of ideas is a personal garden I sometimes invite other’s into.
